Deoghar Attraction

Shrine of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the Baba Baidyanath temple houses twenty-one other temples of different Gods and Goddesses. It is said that Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva and offered his ten heads as the sacrifice; impressed with which, Lord Shiva came to cure him as a "Vaidya" doctor. That is how the temple derives its name "Baidyanath". The temple is also one of the Shakti peeths, with the two temples "of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva" linked together to show the sacred bond of Shiva and Shakti. In the month of Shravan (August), the devotees bring sacred water from the Ganges to wash the Jyotirlinga with.

Basukinath is located in Dumka district, roughly 43 km from Deoghar. The pilgrimage to Deoghar is considered to be incomplete without paying homage at Basukinath. This temple is considered to very sacred and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It also has a beautiful architecture and is decorated with fascinating local art.

Sultanganj is mostly famous for Sultanganj Babadham Yatra. Yatra begins from Sultanganj and ends at Babadham (Deoghar).This city located in the Bhagalpur district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is situated on the south bank of Ganga river, 25 km west of Bhagalpur city.During the ongoing month of "Shrawan", lakhs of pilgrims from across the country descend on Sultanganj in Bhagalpur to collect holy water from the Ganga after which they proceed to Deoghar to offer the water to Lord Shiva at Baidyanath Dham. This path is newly prepared and is a kaccha path. The prior total distance was about 106 Km. Due to the construction of new Kanwaria Kachha path distance is reduced by about 16 Km.

TaraPaa-h is a small temple town near Rampurhat in Birbhum district of the Indian state of West Bengal, known for its Tantric temple and its adjoining cremation (Maha Smashan) grounds where sadhana? (tantric rituals) are performed. The Tantric Hindu temple is dedicated to the goddess Tara, a fearsome Tantric aspect of the Devi, the chief temples of Shaktism. Tarapith derives its name from its association as the most important centre of Tara worship and her cult. Tarapith is also famous for Sadhak Bamakhepa, known as the avadhuta or "mad saint", who worshipped in the temple and resided in the cremation grounds as a mendicant and practised and perfected yoga and the tantric arts under the tutelage of another famous saint, the Kailashpathi Baba. Bamakhepa dedicated his entire life to the worship of Tara Maa. His ashram is also located in bank of Dwaraka river and close to the Tara temple.

Located about 2km away from the Baba Baidyanath Temple, the Noulakha temple is a shrine of the idols of Radha and Krishna; also a major Hindu pilgrimage centre. A calm and peaceful temple, it stretches to about 146ft in height. Built in 1948, the Noulakha temple was the creation of a saint known as Shree Balananda Brahmachari. A queen of the Pathuria Ghat royal family, Rani Charushila, is said to have donated the money for this temple to be built. It is believed that she had lost her son and husband, which led to her approaching the saint in her sorrowful state. He then advised her to have said temple constructed. It is about 8km away from Tapovan's another area that consists of a number of caves, where the saint Balananda used to meditate.

It is the highest peak of chhotonagpur plateau.It has total 28 km of road either on foot or by doolie but it has very beautiful scenic beauty. a must visit place for all humans irrespective of their religious beliefs. Tapovan is another holy site located at a distance of around 10 km from Babadham. The site houses a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is popularly known as Taponath Mahadeva. Tourists can witness various caves on this hill, which served as a site for penance of Sri Sri Balananda Brahmachari and Sage Valmiki. One of the prime attractions of the site is the cave, which has a Shivalingam enshrined in it.

Trikuta Parvata is a combination of three main peaks on the hill, which are situated at the height of around 2,470 ft. The site is Located at a distance of around 10 km from Deoghar on the way to Dumka.
